This short film is adapted from the story of Sisyphus, a Greek mythological figure, and was nominated for Best Animated Short Film at the 1976 Academy Awards. I Can Only Imagine Horton Hears a Who! gremlins Bog Sisyphus, the son of Aeolus, the king of the world, was known for his cunning and wit. He once created the city of Corinth in a narrow area between the two countries and accumulated a large amount of wealth. After Zeus abducted Aegina, the daughter of the river god Asopus, Sisyphus reported Aegina's hiding place to Asopus for his own benefit. Zeus was extremely angry and sent the death god Thanatus to take Sisyphus. However, Thanatus was heavily shackled by Sisyphus, and no one in the world died until Ares, the god of war, appeared, Tanatos only brought Sisyphus to the underworld, but Sisyphus devised a clever plan to return to the mortal world. The soul of Sisyphus was eventually ingested by Tanatos, and he received severe punishment: he had to use all his strength every day to push the huge stone up the steep mountain. As he approached the peak, the stone would automatically slide out of his hand. He wanted to do it again, and over and over again, he wanted to repeat this kind of labor. But this short film has rewritten the mythological story from another perspective.
